I was reading an article in a local magazine today. One phrase in the article caught my attention, and not for a good reason:

“… calling the pledge ‘head spinning stupid’ on his political blog …”

But the web address of the blog, so you could read all of the comments and perhaps make your own judgement about it, was nowhere to be found.

This was, of course, a dead tree publication instead of being made of these endlessly recycleable electrons. They might not have wanted to give anything away to the competition. But I resolved then and there to do something about it. I’m going to start working on a blogroll of Color Country Blogs starting with the one referenced above. (Steve Urquhart’s blog.)

I plan on more than “just a list” however. I’m also going to review every one in the article you can find under the tab “Color Country Blogs” at the top of the page. So if you see one in the margin and you would like to know a bit more about it, you can get my review by clicking the tab.

No “commercial” web sites will be included! This won’t be a directory to hotels and T-shirt shops. Anything in this list will have to be an actively maintained site with current information, not just ads. I reserve the right to include just a few that are not directly linked with Color Country, but the focus will be on blogs that focus on us.
