Huckabee for Veep!

This space is almost exclusively devoted to issues central to Color Country. The key word is “almost.” The news this morning has a few articles about something that I can’t resist commenting about.
In a reply to a comment here, I wrote, “There is absolutely zero chance that an evangelical preacher with neo-liberal tendencies can be elected President, so there’s no need to worry about a “Huckabee administration.” I still stand by that prediction. A Democrat will be elected from St. George before Huckabee will ever be elected President.
However …
Several news items this morning highlight comments that Huckabee has made defending McCain and criticizing Romney. (Huckabee Continues To Attack Romney, Defend McCain, CBS News; In Alabama, Huckabee Defends McCain from Romney “Dishonest” Charge, FoxNews)
Huckabee’s not running for President anymore. He’s running for Veep!
I never said Huckabee wasn’t smart. I said he wasn’t electable. Evidently, he’s smart enough to have reached the same conclusion I have and decided that second banana still makes a pretty good banana split. Besides, other articles have highlighted the genuine dislike that exists with both Huckabee and McCain where Romney is concerned. (Why is that? Does that say anything about “Color Country Culture”?) In addition to being the most feasible path to satisfying his own ambition, Huckabee probably really would like to do what he can to stop a Romney presidency. And as it turns out, he can do a lot.
You could be very correct Dan!
I’ll make a note and be sure to refer others here for confirmation when/if such happens.
Edwards-gone
Rudy-gone
Ron Paul still the only candidate offering any sort of REAL change in direction.
But come time to really pick, they are gonna vote for Romney cuz hesss sooo purtty!
I dunno. Electing either a woman or a black man would seem to me to be ‘real change’.
But I have to agree. Romney shore is purdy!
I disagree, color and gender are not items of change any more than fresh undies after a shower. It is a change, but in two days they will smell like shit again.
I’ll add that many folks really need to remind themselves that Bush is not a candidate for 08, he is 1 yr away from being a historical figure.
At the risk of this being old news I would like to add my idea as to why people are voting for OBama. Its Hero Worship. Just the same as hords of people attend concerts, sports affairs etc. A lot of people could care less what a candidate thinks but…is he / she purdy?
Again … Totally agree. Obama is purdy too!
