Like Reverend Mayhew of old Boston, Keith Jones, the manager of the Veyo Culinary Water Association, has struck a blow for citizens rights. The WC2 (Washington County Water Conservancy) is using our money to push the Lake Powell Pipeline agenda, and we don’t like it. So Keith has asked Washington County to stop taxing us.

Actually … Keith says that Veyo doesn’t get any benefit from the WC2. If they were actually doing something about CONSERVING water instead of just pushing a billion dollar pipeline agenda, I might not feel quite so animated about it.

But as it is, I think Keith has found the ideal way to get the attention of the WC2 tyrants. Already he has attracted comments from one of the tyrants, Washington County Commissioner Alan Gardner. According to the SL Tribune, “If people work and shop in areas served by the district, like St. George or Washington or Hurricane, then they benefit from the water.”

I presume that Gardner will next propose that we assign people to monitor anyone who visits Color Country and make sure that if they take a drink from a water fountain, they pay the WC2 tax.

The little town I live in, the Peoples Republic of Springdale, also takes care of their own water needs. I have already contacted the Town Manager to ask if we can join with Keith in his quest for equal justice.
