The Wordpress search facility here isn’t the very best. (I recommend using Bing or Google with a “site:colorcomments.com” parameter, but until the site becomes more popular, that isn’t going to get everything either.)

So I provide my own index of the blogs here at ColorComments. The index is mainly here to help find older articles so it only indexes things more than six months old. Since the first six months of 2009 is just about to come to a close, this is the time to post the last six months of 2008.

One of the rewards of producing it is that I get to read my old stuff again.

Here are a few of my personal recommendations for the last six months of 2008 (in approximate chronological sequence – I just couldn’t rank them).

Personal Conservation:

The Right To Dry!

Cooked.

Health Care – Precognition of one of todays hot issues:

We’re Number 1!!

The U of U Shines a Light on Health Care.

Bush’s Blunder in the Middle East:

Bush’s Blunder and the Economy

A Personal Hero Weighs In

Local Color:

The Stupid Mess in Color Country

Zion Lodge Stories (Read ‘em all!)

On the Track of the Last Mammoth

Color Country – An Oasis of Reason

Obamamania:

President Barack Obama
(Written a week before the election.)

A Man For The World!
(My congratulations to the new President written just after the election.)

Obama and the Gravel Pit Theory
(Why Obama is so right for us.)

And possibly the best of the whole six months,
written on the last day of 2008:

The Top Ten Evils of Bush

Damn, but this is a good blog! Thanks for the index; I had missed some of these.

I REALLY wish more people knew about your blog, Dan (as you know). This is GOOD STUFF. I know you enjoy writing it, but still, thanks for writing it. I enjoy reading it – and sharing it when appropriate (when I come across someone who expresses an interest in something you’ve written about) .

Yeah … Me too. Blogging from a standing start is a tough run these days. But thanks for the thanks.

When I was young and foolish, I used to write letters to newspapers and magazines. I stopped when I became middle-aged and started drowning in a cesspool of corporate politics. Now that I’m old and foolish (some things never change) I have decided that blogging is the way I’m going to scratch that itch.

I really do like to “hear myself talk”. In fact, I read my own blogs over and over. It’s one of the most fun things I do these days. When I was young, I was a master debater. Now I’m just a debater, but I think I get just as much fun out of it.
