Dick Cheney says he won’t talk to the federal special prosecutor.
Who does he think he is?

SuperVeepOh! I forgot. He thinks he’s Dick Cheney. Faster than speeding birdshot. More powerful than a loco motive. Able to leap to tall conclusions at a single bound. It’s SuperCreep … ummm … “SuperVeep“!

Bill Clinton had to talk to a special prosecutor. In fact, the Republicans had Clinton in lawyer’s offices so much that it was a problem to find time for the affairs of the country. Cheney doesn’t even have that excuse anymore. What is it about Republicans and acountability? Nixon tried to avoid being investigated for his crimes by firing the first special prosecutor appointed. (It didn’t work. The second one nailed him!)

Cheney says, “I’m very proud of what we did in terms of defending the nation for the past eight years, successfully!”

Like … Osama and his whole crew still very much in business for the whole eight years? Like invading the wrong country on completely false assumptions? It’s enough to make you real proud, you betcha!

Cheney also says he didn’t know at the time which torture methods were used. Nixon said he wasn’t a crook. Reagan said, “Mistakes were made.” The job of a special prosecutor is to find out if they’re lying or not.

Cheney says it’s all just a political show. He should know about “political shows”. But let’s look at the facts. Most observers think that the attorney general’s decision to name a prosecutor could create political headaches for President Obama because he just doesn’t think that digging up the bodies is what America needs right now. For example, Senator John Kerry, a close Obama ally, said he believed “there’s a little bit of a tension between the White House itself and the lawyers and the Justice Department. And in a sense, that’s good, that’s appropriate, because it shows that we have an attorney general who is not pursuing a political agenda but who is doing what he believes the law requires him to do.” Senator Diane Feinstein didn’t much like AG Holder’s decision either, “I think the timing of this is not very good.”

But the best joke … ummm … “comment” came from our own Orrin Hatch. He said that since the Bush administration decided not to investigate, the issue is settled and the Obama administration is out of line doing it now. Lemmesee … Bush decided that Bush was A-OK and that should be enough for anybody. Right?

It sounds to me like Cheney would say anything to keep the truth from being exposed. But hasn’t it always been like that with SuperVeep!
