I thought of doing something full of snow that looked cold for January, but the fact that we’re entering into a new decade seemed to me to be simply more significant than anything else. It’s interesting how we silly humans insist on marking everything into segments and parcels and pieces; drawing lines and building barriars.

When the birds show up at my house for breakfast, they don’t think about “January 1, 2010″ – They’re focused on the moment. There’s something to be said for that.

Was the photo taken just before sunset? Did you take it from your house and if so, looking in what direction? And if not, where were you when you took the photo?

The photo is just beautiful. And peaceful. What a scene to gaze upon from the comparative isolation and security of your house (if, indeed, that is where you were when you took the photo). How nice for you.

    Just before sunrise.

    Right from my front door.

    Looking south east.

    Yep!
