February 2010 – We Feed Everything!

My wife said that I had used enough scenery shots for a while. So you get this pair for February.
Every morning we put out bird seed, cracked corn and peanuts. During the summer, I think the water is more popular than the seed. This little guy is feasting on a peanut. The hawks, foxes, and rattlesnakes all agree that we have the very best corn-fed chipmunks in Zion Canyon! We feed everything at our house.
I was talking to Jock the Park Superintendent one day and I mentioned that we feed everything. He said, “Good! I’ll be up!”
Tell your friend , the Park Superintendent …..If he expects all those goodies that the hawks , foxes and rattlesnakes eat then he had better go elsewhere . Dan and Roxy are vegetarians. But even at that there are some real tasty goodies served up . Lena
Oh … I dunno. I think Jock could hold his own against most of the rattlesnakes that come around.

That’s a nice photo, Dan. The words “aesthetically pleasing” came to mind. I’m not certain that’s a correct usage of aesthetic,” but those are the words that came to mind. Something also about the photo is framed well, or something. Been too long since I’ve taken an art class to remember how to describe what I mean, but I do like that photo. – I would love to put out water for my birds, but when I do, it freezes before they get enough confidence to come to the water. – Spring, hurry!
I’m writing this in reply to Carleen’s comment. When Jock said to Dan, “Good, I’ll be up .” I really think he meant to dinner or lunch or maybe just coffee . I wonder how Dan missed that? Or maye its me. Lena
