Summer fires do make for spectacular sunrises.
The fire season hasn’t been too bad so far. The Horse fire in the park has produced a few smokey mornings in Zion Canyon, but the Park Service has evidently decided that it’s not a problem and they’re really not even trying that hard to put it out. As it turns out, one side of the fire has burned into an area that was burnt deliberately as a managed fire. It shows the value of managed fires in the first place.
One nice thing about summer fires is that the smoke they put into the atmosphere does create some really great sunrises.
