July 2009 - A Home Where The Buffalo RoamThey’re almost more common than cows in Color Country

As promised, here’s the second calendar for July. Like the first, this one was taken along Highway 89, Utah’s back road, about a month ago. Those nice cool clouds sure look good now that summer is in full swing.

You can see buffalo from your car in at a lot of places. You can usually see a few in Springdale in the big pasture between The Pioneer and Blondies. Outside the east entrance to Zion Park at the top of the mountain, there’s another big pasture with pretty fair sized herd next to the Zion Mountain Resort.

They may be a lot more common, but you should still treat buffalo with caution. A tourist was hurt by a buffalo last year in Springdale. It wasn’t the fault of the buffalo!
